Should the door be insulated?
A majority of high-speed doors are insulated and installed in the outer shell of a building. A high-speed door with extra insulation is the perfect solution for buildings fitted with cooling or heating. In order to provide the best thermal separation, these doors feature insulated sandwich panels.
What type of operation is required, manual or electrical?
The door can either be operated manually or electrically, depending on its purpose. There are two key factors to consider here: the size of the door and the frequency of its use. Is automation necessary?
Manually or electrically operated doors need to be consistently opened and closed to prevent energy loss and unwanted visitors (rodents, insects…) from entering. The high-speed door should be automated when there is a risk of it being left open.
Is door speed important?
Frequent opening and closing of a rapid door reduces its insulation value. Hence, a fast-operating door would be more appropriate.
